Privacy Policy

As a client, you can rest assured that what you share during our time together will be kept strictly confidential because both the law, and accompanying governing bodies (in this case CRPO), protects the professional relationship a client shares with a psychotherapist, and as such, information cannot be disclosed, or shared with another, without explicit written consent.

In the interest of safety however, please be aware that there are several instances in which I, as a health professional hold a legal "duty" to report.

These are:

  • In the case of suspected child, dependent adult, or elder abuse, I am required by law to report it to the appropriate authorities immediately.

  • If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person(s), I must notify the police and also inform the intended victim(s). And,

  • If a client intends to harm themselves, I will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in ensuring their safety.*

*If they do not cooperate, I will take further measures (without their permission) that are required of me by law in order to ensure their personal safety.
